New heights for Darlly & A trip to remember!
The start of summer 2024 saw our own Operations Director travel to our HQ in Hangzhou, China to visit our Darlly family and see the continued success of Darlly Globally. The 6 day trip would involve factory visits, meetings for global strategy and new product developments.
The first visit of the trip was to the Darlly offices based just outside of the factory in Fuyang. The beautiful glass fronted building which is home to more than 80 members of the Darlly team. This includes engineers, technicians and an international salesforce. Dominic Moseley said “The offices were so much more than I thought they would be with beautiful bright open spaces. It was also so welcoming especially after such a long journey over, I got to meet and spend time with the Pool & Spa team there. Seeing where the Darlly team works day to day really helps to get an understanding of how the business operates.”
The second day started with meetings at the Darlly factory with Theresa Zhang, Terry He, Candy Zhang and Iris Xi. The meetings were built around global strategy and working together to continue to grow Darlly as the market leader in Pool and Spa filtration. Theresa Zhang said “The meetings were really successful and working together as a global brand is one of the big reasons behind Darlly’s success across the world in the Pool and Spa market. We are constantly trying to improve and push to improve every part of our product and service”
The afternoon was a full factory tour visiting the industrial filter manufacturing centre, the Research and Developement labs and then finally the Pool and Spa Filter manufacturing department (Our favourite part). It isn’t until you arrive at the factory that you really can understand the sheer enormity of it, the current factory which was built in 2014 is home to over 600 employees and manufacturers millions of filters a year. These filters will be used in all sorts of applications across many different industries but the core of Darlly’s business remains Industrial filtration as well as Pool and Spa filtration.
The current factory is just over 350,000 sq/ft in size with over 600 employees working there everyday.
Having never visited the Darlly Factory it was integral for Dominic to really educate and understand the growth of Darlly over the last 30 years. If you look through the photos below you can see how the business has grown with the latest Factory anticipating completion at the end of 2024. Dominic was lucky enough to take a look round the new factory that will stand at a whopping 950,000sq/ft.
“The sheer size of the new factory and offices were unforgettable and it really reaffirmed the strength in being part of the Darlly Family. This puts Darlly as one of the global leaders in filter manufacturing with every part of the new factory being upgraded as well as them keeping the old facility to keep up with demand. I already can’t wait to come back next year for the Grand opening”

How to clean a dirty hot tub filter?
The filter should first be inspected to check that the filter material is not damaged, ripped or torn. If the filter material is damaged or compromised in any way, the filter should be replaced. In this condition, it will not filter the water efficiently or effectively.
Particles and debris trapped by the filter will remain in the filter until removed by thorough cleaning. Dirty filters will easily lead to restricted flow and flow related errors.
An effective method to remove dirt and debris from pleated filters is to use the Darlly Cyclone Filter Cleaner (SC785) filter cartridge cleaner which easily attaches to any standard garden hose.
Step 1
Start by turning all the jets off on the hot tub.
Step 2
Carefully remove the filter from the filter housing without letting any of the debris back into the main chamber of the spa.
Step 3
Move the filter near a drain/away from the tub. Attach the Darlly Cyclone Filter Cleaner to the hose and push the bristles into the pleats of the filter. Move the bristles up and down whilst pressing the trigger to wash out all the unwanted deposits. This will remove a large proportion of the deposits filtered out of the water.
Step 4
The filters should then be soaked overnight in a cleaning solution such as our Darlly Filter Cartridge Cleaner (SC796). Follow the simple instructions on the packaging to mix the solution. This can be mixed in a bucket and the filter(s) should then be submerged in the solution and to left to soak overnight for deep cleaning.
Step 5
After removing from the solution, a thorough wash with a garden hose will complete the procedure before the filters are left to dry before use.
A thoroughly cleaned filter will provide more efficient filtration than a poorly cleaned one.
It can be advantageous to have two sets of filters to allow continued filtration and to help maintain water quality during the cleaning process.
